Radiohead

Radiohead

By the year of 1985, in a city name Abingdon, Oxfordshire a band with the name "On a Friday" was formed. Consisted by Thom York, Jonny Greenwood, Ed O'Brien, Colin Greenwood and Phil Selway. With this first name, they released 3 demo tapes that never got very famous, but with some nice songs, like the "Happy Song".
Two of demos you can find online, but the first one i've never listen to.

Later on, before the released of the first single by 1992, "Creep", they switched the band name to Radiohead. This song was initially unsuccessful, but it became a worldwide hit several months after the release of their firs album "Pablo Honey" by 1993. In 1995 their popularity rose in the UK with the release of the second album, "The Bends".
But their international popularity only came by 1997, almost 10 years after the release of the first demo tape, with their third album, "Ok Computer".

"Kid A" (2000) and "Amnesiac" (2001) marked an evolution in Radiohead's musical style, as they incorporated experimental electronic music, post-punk, Krautrock and jazz influences. In 2003, inspired by the war they released "Hail to the Thief" which was their last record with EMI.
The band's first six albums sold more then 25 million copies worldwide by 2007.

In 2007 Radiohead independently released their seventh album "In Rainbows" which customers could set their own price. Later on they released a physical form for critical and chart success.
This year, 2011, they released their eighth album called "The King of Limbs" in a variety of formats.

Ranked number 73, in the Rolling Stone's list of "The Greatest Artists of All Time", the Radiohead work has influenced a lot of artists, as their work is also influenced by musicians in a wide variety of genres.

Since they are my all time favorite band, its a hard to say which is my favorite song, but i'll leave you with two of my favorite! :)
Sorry for taking so long to make a new post, but as you know, i do have another life and, lets just say that it gives a lot of work my life. See you next time with another great band!
