Foster the People

Formed in LA, California in 2009, Foster the People are an American Indie pop band that saw there first hit, Pumped Up Kids reach number one on Billboard's Alternative Songs chart, number 3 on the Rock Songs tally and number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Mark Foster (vocals, keyboards, piano, synthesizers, guitar, programming, percussion), Mark Pontius (drums and extra percussion), and Cubbie Fink (bass and backing vocals) formed the band while they were on their mid-twenties. Mark Pontius used to play drums and shoot/edit the music videos for the indie pop band 

The band's first name was Foster & the People, but people misheard it as "Foster the People". Eventually, he took to the nurturing image it evoked of "taking care" of the people, so the name stuck.

Hi there my awesome followers!

Today i'm all back to basis :P I'm going to introduce you to a band that i discovered this summer at Optimus Alive in Lisbon, Portugal.

They were formed in 2009 by Hannah Hooper, Christian Zucconi, Sean Gadd (son of singer/songwriter Steve Gadd of UK band Stray), Andrew Wessen and Ryan Rabin. They begin by opening for Florence and the Machine. 

The single, "Itchin on a Photograph" was available for free download at their website, just like radiohead did :P

Also, Zucconi said to be their "best booking ever" on Optimus Alive '11 Festival (Algés, Lisbon). 50,000 people attended the venue, AND I WAS THERE!

Contagion

Hi there readers, today i'm bringing you a brand new content that i'm going to try to introduce more often on my blog, i'm going to give you some kind of a review of the movies i see on the theater or at my place.

Yesterday i saw Contagion. I was waiting for this movie to be release for about 2 months and it wasn't has good has expected.

Firstly, the argument is pretty good and the way that they use it is, in my opinion, a way of showing people that we are very vulnerable to little events that can happen on the other side of the world.

The story shows the the 133 days of 4 people life during a epidemic that comes from Hong Kong.

This epidemic kills about 1% of the world population before it the vacine is discovered.

One of the for people is a guy that has a blog, just like me, and he wrights a lot of conspiracy theories on his blog, and a lot of them show up to be true.

The movie is very short on story, and some characters appear for no good reason. Sometimes you ask your self, "what hell is this story for?"... But oh well, its a good Blockbuster.

Festival Optimus Primavera Sound 2012

The city of Porto will be the next city to receive the Primavera Sound Festival.

This will be a Portuguese version of the San Miguel Primavera Sound Festival that happen last year in Barcelona, Spain.

The Portuguese version of this festival will be called Optimus Primavera Sound Festival, and its going to happen between 7 and 10 of June 2012.

Their will be 4 stages with one of the stages fully dedicated to Electronic Music.

In Dezember the first names will be announced.

The first 1.000 tickets for the Optimus Primavera Sound sold out in less then 48 hours.

The price will be 75€/ticket.
